How it works

Start where they are.
Grow from there.

No guessing which book to buy or which grade to start in. Cubit measures first, then teaches.

1

Take the placement test

About 25 questions in Math and Reading. It feels like a game, not a test, and it shows where your child really is, not just the grade on paper.

2

Get a track for their grade

Each subject gets an Easy, Medium or Hard track for your child's grade. Cubit suggests one, and you can switch it anytime.

3

Check in every two weeks

For the first three months, a short check every two weeks keeps each level adjusting, and you get a progress update after every one.

Easy

More support

Pictures, smaller steps and warm ups that fill earlier gaps, so nothing gets skipped.

Medium

Right on pace

The core lessons for your child's grade, at a steady pace that keeps them moving.

Hard

More challenge

Every lesson adds a challenge question for kids who are ready to stretch.

Same grade, same standards. Every track teaches the same grade level standards. The track only changes how much support or challenge comes with each lesson.

Made for families

One tablet. Every kid gets their own.

Brothers and sisters can share a single tablet. Each child has a profile with their own grade, their own tracks and their own lessons, so a preschooler and a high schooler never get mixed up.

Why we call it Cubit

A measure as old as the ark.

A cubit is one of the oldest units of measurement there is: the length from your elbow to the tip of your middle finger, about 18 inches. Every child carries one in their own arm.

Noah built the ark from an exact plan measured in cubits. Goliath stood six cubits and a span. Great things were built one cubit at a time, by following a plan bigger than the builder.

"The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits."GENESIS 6:15

Measure real progress

Placement and regular checks show honest growth, not just pages finished.

Follow a good plan

Lessons follow a clear path through the standards, so every step leads somewhere.

FAQ

Questions parents ask.

What ages and grades does Cubit cover?

Pre K through 12th grade. Each child is placed by what they actually know, so a kid who is ahead or behind in one subject gets lessons that fit.

How does the placement test work?

New kids answer about 25 questions in Math and Reading. The questions adjust as they go, so it stays short and never feels like a pass or fail exam. When it's done, you see where each child landed and the track Cubit suggests.

Can I change my child's track?

Yes, anytime. Each subject has its own Easy, Medium or Hard setting, and you can switch it with one tap from the parent area. Cubit will also suggest a change when a check shows your child is ready.

How often are kids retested?

For the first three months, every two weeks. Each check is short and takes the place of a regular lesson. After every check you get a progress update showing where each subject stands.

What standards do the lessons follow?

Lessons are built on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, and every lesson is tagged with the standards it teaches, so you can see exactly what has been covered.

How many kids can I add?

As many as you teach. The family plan is $49 a month no matter how many children you add, and they can all share one tablet with their own profiles.

Is Cubit a Christian app?

Our name and the idea behind it come from the Bible, and we're glad to share that story. The lessons themselves focus on academics built on state standards, so any homeschool family is welcome.

When can we start?

Cubit is in a pilot with our own family right now. Join the waitlist and we'll let you know as soon as it opens to more families.
